J and R's Carpet Cleaning-Baking Soda for Spills

What types of spills should I sprinkle baking soda on?

March 17, 2014Carpet Care Tips, F.A.Q.s, Tips, Upholstery Care TipsTyler Brown

Some people try to use baking soda as a soaking agent for liquid spills.  This may work however we tend to tell people to use baking soda as an after thought when you have spilled something that will leave an odor.  After you have cleaned as much of the spill up as possible and feel you have done everything you can sprinkle some baking soda on the spot and let it sit for a while to deodorize it.  After its been there for a couple hours make sure to vacuum it up so it doesn’t get dragged around the rest of your house.  (baking soda can also be broken down into water and used in sort of the same fashion white vinegar is to deodorize and help break up spills etc.
